Menopause is a stage of life that affects nearly all women when they reach the age of 50 years old. Some women experience menopause earlier in life and some later but it generally occurs at around the age of 50. Menopause is referred to as the change in life for a woman and it marks the time when she experiences her last menstrual cycle and will lose the ability to bear children. Menopause medication is often prescribed to women to help deal with the conditions that menopause causes such as hot flashes and mood swings. Many women begin to experience what is referred to as a menopause migraine which are painful headaches associated with this change in life. It is a difficult time for a woman and many women confess that sometimes it feels like it will never end.
For many women the period after menopause becomes a very liberating time in their lives as many consider the period after menopause the time when they are starting the rest of their lives and many settle into a very comfortable life after menopause. Some women need menopause help not only in getting through the change in life but also dealing with it after it is over. For some women menopause can be quite painful and the mood swings can cause situations that many women say they regret when it is over. It is difficult to understand what menopause puts women through and it needs to be noted that the way a woman acts when she is going through menopause is not only temporary but it can also be contrary to her normal behavior. Women often turn to support groups to help them get through the process as sometimes their families want to understand but it is something that is difficult to understand unless you are going through it.
Menopause jokes are common and usually told by men. Of course joking about something like that is about as cruel as you can get and many men enjoy the luxury of never having to experience menopause first hand. However there is a form of male menopause that does affect some men and while the life change for men is not nearly as monumental as it is for women it still remains that some men also experience what they think is their own version of menopause. In reality what a male goes through is not menopause at all but rather the natural effects of aging. Men do not experience the drastic physical changes that women do and men are also not lucky enough to have the drastic mood swings that women get. As men age their hormone levels decrease and other physiological changes start to take place and this is sometimes referred to as male menopause. Menopause is, in reality, a complete physical change in a woman’s body as she ages and is accompanied by physical discomfort and emotional stress. Men do not go through these drastic changes and therefore are really not experiencing menopause. So just like child birth men only get to watch from the sidelines when it comes to menopause.
